Reverse: Eagle clutching arrows and olive branch, shield on breast, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA QUAR DOL surrounding. New Orleans "O" mintmark above R and D.
Measures approximately 24 mm in diameter
This coin was recovered from a buried treasure hoard of approximately 2,000 coins found underneath the La Meridian hotel on Canal Street, in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1982. The coins were primarily Spanish, Mexican and American silver coins minted no later than the 1840's.
