The “La Meridian Hoard” was a cache of Spanish Colonial, Mexican and American silver coins that were discovered in 1982 during a construction project for the La Meridian Hotel on Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Two cypress wood boxes of coins were recovered, and appear to have been buried circa 1844.
