A bronze 80 drachmai from the reign of Cleopatra VII, struck in Alexandria between 51 and 30 BC.

Hardly ever seen in better condition than this.

The obverse features a diademed bust of Cleopatra VII facing right, highlighting the traditional Ptolemaic royal iconography of the last queen of Egypt. The surrounding inscriptions identify her as the ruling monarch, reflecting her status as both political and cultural leader of the kingdom.

The reverse depicts an eagle standing left, a common motif on Ptolemaic bronze coinage, symbolizing power and divine protection.

The coin retains a dark patina and shows well-worn surfaces, typical for surviving examples of this denomination, which were heavily circulated. Despite heavy wear, the piece is a fine representative of late Ptolemaic numismatics, offering a tangible connection to the reign of Egypt’s most famous queen.

This example is a little larger in diameter than an American quarter and twice as thick
