The oldest and most characteristic of Indian Knives.
The handle consists of two parallel bars that would have been strapped to a fighter's wrist to prevent him from dropping it. One of the crosspieces was fastened to each bar as a handle.
The other crosspiece was movable on a track to open the double edged blade, exposing a smaller fixed blade on the 'inside.' Such a feature is quite unusual.
This is a beautifully engraved piece of art as well as a gruesome instrument of battle. 15 1/2 inches in length.
