The compartment inside the top of the box houses a large amputation saw likely used to remove limbs and a smaller saw for smaller cutting jobs.
The compartment's cover displays an oval Feick Brothers label.
What appears to be a tear in the felt above the oval label is not a tear or damage of any kind. It is a metal clip that revolves to catch into the wood below the box lock to hold the lid in place when engaged.
The four instruments with handles in the main box and the large amputation saw are all stamped with the Feick name. The smaller saw is unmarked although it is quite similar in design and fits properly into the case.
Each of the pieces is in new or nearly new condition and it appears that the tourniquet has never been used.
One instrument is missing that originally rested below the large saw. Measuring 16. 4" by 5" by 3"
